#23 Is this really the end? Or just the beginning...
And so it is the final curtain..........What to say? It's been a wonderful, if hurried, journey to some form of technological enlightenment. Many things to ponder, to revisit, to remember (44000 accounts, passwords and log ins!) Favourite locations include Flickr, Bloglines, Image generators, Del.icio.us and YuoTube. What have I learnt? Lots ... enough anyway to be able to enlighten my techno savvy teenagers on some of the mysteries of the Web, and that is an achievement! What's next? Hopefully, Web/Learning 3.0, 4.0........., but can I buy some time from somewhere? Please!
#22 Audiobooks (or "The end is in sight")
I didn't have a lot of time to listen to many of the books, but I managed to download a link from the Gutenburg Project. This will become a well used site and I can see people paying to get the newest books to listen to on their MP3 player. Having an RSS to tell of the latest additions will also help. Subscription services such as Netlibrary could be valuable also and I can see these could be cost effective. Once again I need to revisit these sites for more serious playing!
#21 Podcasts, Smodcasts!
Visited the podcast directories searched under Melbourne and added the RSS to my Bloglines account, "In Yarraville Tonight".Also found the ABC page I had already attached to my blog, so the directory seems to work well. I don't have time to make my own , but I can certainly show others how to access Audacity and maybe use it in the future.
#20 You too can YouTube
YouTube delivers! Found the reason I'm sitting alone in the wee small hours trying to "do my homework", without interruption. Simple really, I'm a mum and obviously exhausted from it all! The video says it all - take note!!!
#19 Discovering Web 2.0 tools
There are more tools than I thought possible, so after some playing with winners of the Web 2.0 awards I chose one of the Mashups, called Ning. This is a social networking site which allows you to set up a group for people with similar interests. It enables the group to post comments on topics of specific interest to them, but can be in the public forum, whereby others can ask to join in. It does also have the option of restricting membership to invitation only, which might suit more people. In the library setting this could be used by Bookclubs that want to encourage discussion between meetings, or for some of the Gardening, Writers clubs.
#18 Web based Apps: They're not just for desktops
Zoho Writer As you can see my attempt at blogging my document from Zoho Writer was partially successful, but more practice will be necessary. I do like the concept and will certainly play with this when time permits.

Zoho Writer
Another web-based application that will be really useful in all sorts of situations. I suppose it will take a little time to play with, but it has a great layout and clearly indentifiable buttons.
I really like the smiley face feature and the ability to easily insert tables.
Of course the value of this application will only be known if I use it frequently, so I have tagged it.
