#19 Discovering Web 2.0 tools

There are more tools than I thought possible, so after some playing with winners of the Web 2.0 awards I chose one of the Mashups, called Ning. This is a social networking site which allows you to set up a group for people with similar interests. It enables the group to post comments on topics of specific interest to them, but can be in the public forum, whereby others can ask to join in. It does also have the option of restricting membership to invitation only, which might suit more people. In the library setting this could be used by Bookclubs that want to encourage discussion between meetings, or for some of the Gardening, Writers clubs.
